Theme days, art gallery activities still on offer for kids

WHAT'S ON: ACTIVITIES LIST

SCHOOL starts up again in a week but kids aren't ready to go back just yet.

On Tuesday children at PCYC enjoyed a sausage sizzle at the marina and a science day where they learnt about chemistry through experiments and today they can expect an excursion to the movies and a movie day at the centre.

PCYC is also offering more themed days this week; Thursday brings a footy day, kids are encouraged to dress up in their team colours and will be spending the day playing sports.

Friday is Superhero day at PCYC, all the kids will be showing off their powers in their superhero getups.

Stockland's grassy heads workshop started on Monday and continues until Friday, teaching kids the basics of gardening.

Hillclose hosted the second day of the Kids Day Out yesterday. Kids got to play on the slip 'n' slide, the jumping castle and enjoyed the free food on offer.

Tuesday launched the first creepy cutlery contemporary clay workshop at the Gladstone Regional Art Gallery and Museum.

Young people from around the region were encouraged to be inspired by the current exhibition and make their own creepy cutlery pieces out of fast-dry clay.

If you missed out don't worry, book in for Thursday's session.

The Summer Reading Club can expect more craft sessions around the region - today at the Calliope and Agnes Water's libraries, tomorrow at the Boyne and Mt Larcom libraries and at the Gladstone library on Friday.

For Australia Day fun, the Gladstone Regional Council is hosting various events around the region.
