PHOTOS: Gladstone auditions for Opera Queensland production
TALENTED Gladstone residents took to the stage to show their best box step and fandango in the first day of auditions for Queensland Opera's Barber of Seville.
Queensland Opera is searching for 30 Gladstone people to sing in the choir in the show.
Judges, assistant director Jason Barry-Smith and Mark Taylor were impressed with yesterday's talent.
"The auditions have been lovely," Mr Barry-Smith said.
Taylor Goodman Jones was one of the performers who took to the stage to sing a song and play a scale on the piano.
"I think I did well," she said confidently after her audition.
The 30 successful choir members will have professional training in singing, dancing, stagecraft and Italian language skills ahead of the performance.
Auditions are also being held today. To register visit operaq.com.au/whats-on/project-rossini.
The chorus members will perform alongside Opera Queensland and Queensland Symphony Orchestra performers at the Gladstone Entertainment Convention Centre on August 10.
