Sports clubs to be moved

THREE sports clubs will be looking for a new home ground after Gladstone Regional Council confirmed they would be moved to allow for the expansion of Gladstone Airport.

Relocation packages have been offered to the Clinton Senior Soccer Club, Gladstone Mudcrabs Australian Football Club and Gladstone Cricket Incorporated, which all use the Clinton Park Sports Association grounds.

The relocation packages were first flagged in July 2010, with the council offering equal or better replacement facilities. The soccer and AFL clubs will move to an alternative venue for the start of the 2014 winter season, and Gladstone Cricket Incorporated will move no later than the start of the 2015-16 summer season.
