Sport in Gladstone hampered by rain

SPORT goers around the region are staying tucked in bed this morning, rain ruining many sports across Gladstone.

A dump of rain overnight and Saturday morning has left most grounds unplayable and forced even the most keen sportsman to abandon plans.

Cricket grounds are all out of action with all cricket matches being cancelled.

Softball is in the same boat, with Memorial Park riddled with puddles.

Gladstone little athletes will be happy to hear that their pentathlon will be going ahead, with events planned at the TAFE Oval from 10am today through to 3pm.

The Tannum Sands Triathlon on Sunday morning is also still on, unless a major issue arises tomorrow morning with the weather. It will run in light rain and wind.
