Splendour in the grass band profiles: 5

Passion Pit is a five-piece electronic band, formed in Cambridge, Massachusetts, United States in 2007. Michael Angelakos (vocals, keyboards) first heard the name Passion Pit, a slang word for where kids make out at drive-ins, at school. The band’s debut EP Chunk Of Change, with hit song Sleepyhead, was originally recorded on Angelakos’ laptop and later released in 2008. Album Manners was released in 2009 and features singles To Kingdom Come and Little Secrets.
LCD Sound System
LCD Sound System is a side project of DFA Records co-founder James Murphy who started the alternative punk/funk/disco project in 2002. Single Losing My Edge got attention the same year, but the LCD Sound System’s debut and self-titled album wasn’t released until 2005. Single Daft Punk Is Playing At My House was nominated for a Grammy. Album Sound of Silver, featuring North American Scum, All My Friends and Time to Get Away, was released in 2007 and This Is Happening, with singles Pow Pow and Drunk Girls, in 2010.
