BIANCA Van Bergen is addicted to acrobatics, and Spinnaker Park is one of her favourite outdoor gyms.

The bubbly eight-year-old was yesterday doing cartwheels and hand springs on the lush green grass overlooking Gladstone harbour.

"I love it here," said the youngster.

"I like the water. There's also a little beach where I go with my brother to collect shells, and you can find crabs too."

Spinnaker Park is a favourite destination for families around the region.

Bianca's mother, Cindy Van Bergen, said she went to Spinnaker whenever she could.

"We come down here when we can. It's a great spot, and easy to get to," she said.

"There's life too - birds, water, and it's quiet."

A Gladstone resident for 20 years, Ms Van Bergen and her husband run the local business Gladstone Radiator Service, on Morgan St and live in Glen Eden.

She said her children enjoyed playing on the rocky beach, and they often brought their two beagles, who loved galloping around the open space.

"It's the best spot in Gladstone," said friend Jaymie Blake.

The trio were lounging in the shade chatting on Monday, with the giant coal terminal as a backdrop.

"I love it here - it's sun, grass and water."
