Sparks on fire and ready for Souths

SPARKS men's hockey team has the chance to move to second on the Central Queensland Hockey League this weekend, hosting Rockhampton Souths on Saturday.

Sparks (third) are currently one point behind Souths who defeated the Gladstone team 3-1 in round four of the competition.

Since the defeat Sparks have only one blemish on the schedule, a loss to undefeated Wanderers.

A win over Souths would lift Sparks to 18 points and be a big step towards qualifying for the finals in the CQHL.

The match begins at 4.10pm at Rigby Park, with a women's match between Gladstone Souths and Rockhampton Souths at 2.50pm.
