Snake keen to hear what candidates had to say

SOME people - and critters - were keen to attend the state election debate in Gladstone on Tuesday night.

Observer editor Rowan Hunnam spotted this slippery baby when she did an early scout of the CQUniversity hall, where the event was to be held.

"Was it a sign ahead of the political candidate debate?" she asked.

"A lovely little python, but we called the snake catcher to relocate her." 

The four Gladstone candidates participated in the Meet the Candidates event, covering a range of issues including asset sales, Gladstone Hospital, infrastructure and jobs.
