Painter found with drugs in system after smoking ice

PAINTER Dylan Craig Johnson was caught by police after taking drugs then driving on the Benaraby-South Trees Rd early on May 24, after being stopped for a random drug test.

Johnson, 21, readily told police that he had smoked ice the night before.

When the matter went before Gladstone Magistrates Court, the police prosecutor said a sample sent by police for analysis had returned positive for methylamphetamine.

Johnson pleaded guilty to driving when a drug was present in his system.

The magistrate fined Johnson $500 and disqualified him from driving for three months.
