Man snoozing in car found with flick knife

POLICE found Steven Kenneth Walker asleep in the back seat of his parked car late at night just off Glenlyon Rd.

Gladstone Magistrates Court heard a passing driver called police to the scene of an incident.

When officers arrived at 11.30pm on October 2 the car was found reversed into long grass near Tondoon Botanic Gardens.

An inspection revealed a snoozing Walker in the back seat and the car key in the ignition.

Police believe Walker, 48, had been under the influence of liquor at the time.

A search revealed a flick knife inside the car.

Walker was fined $100 for possession of a knife in a public place.
