Six players enough for Power to beat Mackay again

ONLY six women took the court for the Port City Power on Saturday night, one substitute enough for the Gladstone team to beat Mackay's Meteorettes.

Three players saw out all 40 minutes (Maddy Willey, Tierra Henderson and Charmian Mellars) and two over 35 minutes (Amanda Beatson and Samarie Walker) in the depleted side.

It was enough to claim a second win over the defending premiers and move to a three win and one loss record.

Mackay is lingering behind, winning three games from its six so far.

It means the Power is second in the North conference, which is the hardest of the three to play in, Rockhampton unbeaten from six matches.

Power 73- Mackay 68

Tierra Henderson- 32 pts, 8 reb, 2 steals, 1 block

Maddy Willey- 17 pts, 3 assists, 3 steals

Charmian Mellars- 14 pts, 8 reb

Samarie Walker- 4 pts, 14 reb, 3 assists
