Sindy sends it out of park during 22-13 win over Telfords

SOUTHS White women's B-grade team's undefeated season has continued after a 22-13 win over Telfords.

Souths were strong all over the park with the highlight coming from Sindy McFarlane smacking a home run between right field and centre field.

"It felt good when I hit it," she said.

"You can just tell if it is going to be a good one or not. I didn't really watch the ball, I just ran."

Coming back to home base the Souths team all joined in for a round of high fives.

"It was my first home run of the season. I'm pretty happy with it," she said.

With her three bats she got one home run, two bases on one hit and one on the other.

She said despite her heroics it was a dominant team performance by Souths.

"We all played really well as a team and we all hit really well," she said.

"Narelle Smith pitched well for us too and she has a bit of pace."

Smith said she had a bit of a sore neck from pitching most of the game.

"The girls were really nice to me considering I had a sore neck," she said.

She found the hardest thing was pitching at Telfords' smallest batter who had a small strike zone.

"I normally do what my catcher wants me to do, whether it was pitch inside or outside," she said.

"The umpire was pretty good yesterday with how she judged the zone."

Smith said she only gave away three runs before letting other girls have a pitch.

In the end Telfords came back and scored another 10 runs but couldn't stop the early work from Smith.

"I just had confidence in my team in the field," she said.

"It's B-grade so it's not about getting a lot of strikeouts it's about letting them hit it and catching them in the field.

Smith will be going away after Christmas, leaving White without the best pitcher but she will return for the final series.

Souths White takes on Souths Blue this week in what is expected to be a close contest.

The only time White hasn't won this year was against Blue where they finished with a draw and they are the only team to beat Blue this year.
