Showers to continue after heavy overnight rain

SHOWERS are expected to continue in Gladstone today after heavy rainfall overnight.

Bureau of Meteorology data shows Gladstone recorded 5mm of rain in the 24 hours to 9am on Monday, with 1mm at Benaraby and 4.2mm at Seventeen Seventy.

There's a 60% chance of showers today, most likely in the late morning and afternoon.

There's also the chance of thunderstorms.

Gladstone is heading for a top of 30 degrees, after a low of 22.

Tuesday is expected to be mostly sunny with a top of 30, followed by possible showers and thunderstorms later in the week.
