Shiploading comes to a halt at Gladstone coal terminals
RG Tanna Coal Export Terminal in Gladstone has stopped all shiploading and dozer operations because of the heavy rain.
A Gladstone Ports Corporation spokesperson said shiploading and dozer operations at the RG Tanna and Barney Point Coal Terminals had stopped on Thursday.
"At this stage, GPC is still able to unload free fall trains onto stockpiles where risk assessments deem suitable," the spokesperson said.
"Vessel traffic within the Gladstone Harbour remains suspended. The regional harbour master, Captain Mike Lutze, will be reviewing and issuing further advice throughout the day.
"Our focus remains on managing safety and environmental risk, with contingency plans in place should weather conditions become more extreme."
Dredging in Gladstone Harbour has also been put on hold.
