WHAT better way to spend a Sunday morning than taking a sticky beak into an enviable man cave?

As part of the Noosa Beach Classic Car Club's calendar of events, members can open up their garages, sheds or mini-museums to show off and discuss their vehicles and memorabilia to other inquisitive members.

This month was the turn of Noel St.John-Wood, who opened the doors to his expansive shed in Tewantin housing a mint 1935 Ford Fordor Slantback V8 sedan, a to-be-restored 1935 Oldsmobile built in Australia by Holden, and a beautiful array of track and motocross bikes.

"At the club we want to make these events stand out, so we put on food and drinks, give a talk about the story behind the purchase of each car or bike, and any restoration done," Mr St.John-Wood said.

The 30 attendees listened to the informative owner explain his life with the vehicles, with an original 1925 AJS scrambler bike - complete with skeleton rider - named the Diehard Racer attracting most interest.

Following the tour, club members took to the road in a host of classic machines, taking the ferry over the Noosa River to the North Shore Retreat for a driving tour and lunch.

Similar events are planned for the future, with information to be found here.
