Puppy loves going for rides on mobility scooter
SHE may wake up at 5.30am, chase her tail around and lick your feet, but Alex is the best thing that has happened to Bianca Jade.
The four-month-old miniature foxy cross Jack Russell is a little black-and-white bundle of joy.
Ms Jade bought Alex from the RSPCA and has thoroughly enjoyed getting to know her pup, who has five siblings.
"She was just plonked on my lap so I thought, I will have this one," she said.
"She's awesome and unbelievably intelligent.
"She's not all that needy and I like how she can be alone because I cannot physically give her play time."
Alex loves going for rides on Ms Jade's mobility scooter, which she uses for transport.
"I take her for rides on the river and she just sits on the floor and cruises around," she laughed.
Having the responsibility of a dog is also something Ms Jade is new to, but a challenge she is liking so far.
"She is the first pet where she is my 100% responsibility," she said.
"You have to feed and walk her and it gives me something to take care of."
Ms Jade, who has lived in Tannum Sands her whole life, said having a reason to get up in the morning was a blessing for her.
"Sitting on the couch were my days (before I bought Alex)," she said.
"I woke up one day and said, I can't do that anymore. Alex gives me motivation."
Teaching her pet good behaviour was also high on the 30-year-old's priority list as an owner.
"I never wanted her to be a trick dog, I wanted her to be obedient," she said.
"In three days I taught her to sit and wait to be fed."
