St Saviour's sharing Christmas cheer
MORE than 50 people enjoyed the hospitality of Saint Saviour's on Christmas Day.
For volunteers Meghan McGregor and Vicki Quanterelle choosing to come across from the island to spend the day with other gave them a real buzz.
"I don't have any family in Gladstone so it makes sense to spending it helping others that are less fortunate," Ms McGregor said.
"It's given me a great satisfaction, I've met some lovely people and it's my good deed for the year."
For others, on the receiving end, the day came as a blessing. Anthony Knee said he has had a great Christmas despite being alone.
"I've really enjoyed the company of the strangers I've met today," he said.
"My family is in Victoria and it's taught me to love on another unconditionally despite the fights you can sometime have."
David Kingston serenaded the group acoustically with festive songs.
"I'm only quite new to the church but the warm reception I've felt is incredible," he said.
"I love that I'm giving something back to these people."
