Share offer for Discovery

THE proposed resort “The Discovery” at Agnes Water offered shares to interested investors last night at a formal meeting.

The resort’s facilities comprise 50 units including conference venues, tourist desk to book local activities, board room, gymnasium, health spa, convenience shop, underground car parking, lifts, pools and recreation areas and boat parking.

The Discovery is in a beachside location, about 300m from the Agnes Water surf beach.

Owner and developer Diana Macdonald said the resort will be the first of its kind in the Agnes Water. “The Tourism Opportunities Plan (TOP) produced by Tourism Queensland has identified the need for quality accommodation and conference facilities in the Central Queensland area,” Ms Macdonald said. “The GAPDL has indicated that there is a strong demand for conferences, weddings and tourist parties in the area, but currently there are no suitable facilities available to fulfil this need. We need to re-finance and pay out HSBC who, as first mortgagee, want their money back. The plan is to create an unincorporated partnership to hold the land with DA and all intellectual property debt free then proceed in a manner acceptable to the shareholders.”
