SES volunteers always ready to help when needed

THEIR numbers are only a handful but Rosedale SES volunteers are always there when they are needed.

Debbie Godfrey has been a volunteer with the Rosedale SES for a decade and has been involved in all sorts of emergency situations around the state.

"There aren't many of us, but we are always there when we are needed,'' Debbie said.

"We can put a team on the ground wherever it is needed.''

The Rosedale crew has been there in Rockhampton during the big floods, in far north Queensland after Cyclone Yasi and down to Brisbane when a huge storm smashed through the western suburbs.

"We are called to all sorts of situations, but mainly road traffic incidents, storm damage or flooding,'' she said.

"And we are involved in land search as well, and helping out the firies too.''

To join the Rosedale SES phone group leader Viv Brown on 4156 5265.
