GLADSTONE now has a second podiatry centre, with CQ Foot Clinic opening its doors on Thursday, within the same precinct as the Gladstone GP Super Clinic.
The clinic will see patients with general foot and nail problems, as well as offering treatment in orthotics, nail surgery for ingrown toe nails, diabetic foot assessments and gait assessments.
Podiatrist Andrew Crutch moved to Gladstone to work at the clinic after being based in Rockhampton for the past seven years.
"At the moment there is only one other podiatry clinic in Gladstone so the demand is there," Mr Crutch said.
"We work a lot with children…problems with growth plates, heel and knee pain that children get."
He said many of his patients were also people with diabetes who suffered from poor blood flow and nerve damage, or sportspeople with game-related injuries.
The location of the podiatry centre will complement the other specialists already at the GP Super Clinic including a physiotherapist, dietician and diabetes educator.
Mr Crutch said the easiest way to make an appointment with the new podiatry centre was to call the GP Super Clinic.
