Motorbike rider killed at scene of crash north of Mackay
A MOTORBIKE rider has died at the scene of a collision on the Bruce Highway at Hampden.
The rider is believed to be male and aged in his mid-40s.
A Mackay Police spokesman said a truck and a motorbike collided on the highway just after midday.
A forensic crime unit is investigating the crash.
A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said the male truck driver was transported to Mackay Base Hospital with injuries.
Diversions are in place via Yakapari-Seaforth Road and Kuttabul-Seaforth Road.

The alternative route will add at least 30 minutes travel time and is not suitable for heavy vehicles.
Police are advising motorists travelling north of Mackay to expect delays and are asked to consider avoiding the area or delaying travel if possible.
THE Bruce Hwy is currently closed in both directions following a serious accident.
The accident occurred between a motorbike and a truck at about 12.15 today at Hampden, north of Mackay.
Two police, one QFRS and three QAS are currently at the scene.
