Senator tells Gladstone to vote Butcher in election

SENATOR Joe Ludwig was in town today to show his support to Labor candidate Glenn Butcher.

He said Mr Butcher shared Federal Labor's commitment to equal opportunity to supporting jobs in regional Australia, particularly in Gladstone.

"I'm here to support Glenn Butcher in his campaign for Gladstone because it's so critically important," he said.

"Our values are about providing opportunities to workers, to manufacturing, supporting the infrastructure not only in regional Australia but in Gladstone itself."

He said Tony Abbott and Campbell Newman wanted to sell the region to the highest bidder.

"The LNP doesn't even have manufacturing in their four-point plan for Gladstone, for Queensland, and it's really disappointing," he said.
