Sights of Gladstone video goes viral on social media: watch

A FOUR-minute video showcasing some of the best sights of Gladstone has gone viral on Facebook overnight.

Created by Darren Jeacocke, from Queensland Aerial, the video captures areas including Toolooa Bends, Tannum Sands, the Gladstone harbour and Lake Awoonga.

Mr Jeacocke shared it on the Queensland Aerial Facebook page on Sunday night. It has since reached 70,000 Facebook users and has been watched 22,000 times.

"It had a bigger response than what we expected," he said.

"People were all commenting, that's where I live or that's where I grew up, and they were sharing it to their other friends."

The video was shared more than 500 times and has been liked almost 350 times.

"This is really why we do this. I find sometimes people forget how nice our region is."

The video combined shots that Mr Jeacocke and the team at Queensland Aerial have taken in the past 12 months.

Mr Jeacocke said it was a shortened version of another video, which was more than 20 minutes long, showcasing different water views in the region.
