Second drug raid finds cannabis, guns

POLICE have charged two men after allegedly finding a large number of cannabis plants growing on a property near Mt Larcom.

Police searched the property at Machine Creek on Monday.

It will be alleged police attended a property in Henicke Road and located a large number of cannabis plants growing on the property, and a number of plants being grown in a hydroponics set-up in a large water tank.

Police will further allege a handgun was also located during the search.

Two men, a 64-year-old and a 62-year-old both from Machine Creek, were charged with one count each of producing dangerous drugs and possessing dangerous drugs.

The 62-year-old man was also charged with one count each of possessing a handgun, possessing instructions, possessing explosives and possessing property for use.

Both men were issued with notices to appear at the Gladstone Magistrates Court on October 8.
