Season’s smiles at annual Lions Carols by Candlelight event

FAMILIES flocked for it - and good weather smiled on their Christmas spirit.

Sunday the 33rd Annual Boyne/Tannum Lions Carols by Candlelight were held.

Boyne Island Lions Club president Rick Bichsel said up to 700 people came along.

"It was definitely bigger than last year," he said.

But he estimated it was smaller than three years ago, based sausage and candle sales.

"It was a credit to the young students and music teachers, and Annie Hooper, and Norma Tanna - they've done a fantastic job," Mr Bichsel said.

The event is the club's thank-you for the community's support during the year.
