Don't despair, holidays are here

SCHOOL holidays officially start on Monday and children across the region from prep to Year 12 will be out and about trying to keep themselves occupied and make the most of their time off.

For parents, school holidays can be a stressful time but there is no need to worry as the Gladstone Region has plenty on offer to keep your kids busy.

The Gladstone Cinemas will be featuring several newly released movies such as Toy Story 3 (also showing in 3D), Marmaduke and Shrek Forever after and kids are already getting in fast to see all that is on offer.

Jacob Khalu, 10 and Jayden Dobbie, 10 were at the movies yesterday excited to see Toy Story 3 and were lapping up the atmosphere battling it out on the car racing before stocking up on popcorn for the movie.

The Gladstone Regional Council libraries will also be putting on some activities for kids of all ages these holidays with all the action kicking off soon.

For a full list of everything happening around town and how you can make the most out of the school holidays grab a copy of Monday's Observer for your full school holiday coverage.
