SATC creator hits back at Housewives

THE creator of Sex and the City has fired up after the TV hit's second film was criticised by the man behind Desperate Housewives.

Speaking at a live Television Critics Association event, Housewives creator Marc Cherry yesterday said the end of the show after eight seasons later this year would not be followed by a movie.

Referring to the Middle East-set Sex and the City 2, which received largely negative reviews, Cherry quipped: "I'm just never sending these gals to Dubai."

But Sex and the City creator Michael Patrick King has hit back at those jibes, saying any negativity about the sequel is a "compliment".

"I don't think [Cherry has] ever made a feature film, so I don't know if he knows what that entails, but the reality is my second movie made almost half a billion dollars," NME.com reported King as saying.
