Saints in no rush to decide on veterans' future

ST KILDA won't be rushed into making a decision on the future of veteran pair Nick Riewoldt and Leigh Montagna.

Neither are contracted for 2018 when Riewoldt will be 35 and Montagna 34.

"There's still a quarter of the year to go in terms of footy, and that's been the conversation all the way through," coach Alan Richardson said ahead of the Saints' clash with Sydney on Saturday night. It will be Riewoldt's 333rd game.

"Let's get a lot of footy under our belt and then make a decision from there. It's as simple as that really.

"We've just got to wait and see how players are feeling."
