Monday Male teacher keeps body and mind fit

TOOLOOA State High School teacher Andrew Shonhan believes keeping fit is important for a healthy mind.

Andrew is an active participant of the Gladstone Roadrunners and enjoys a bit of competition.

"When you do it with a club, there's always other people so you strive to do a bit better," he said.

"It's a bit of a challenge, different distances and times."

This Saturday is the Ubobo Bush Festival and Gladstone Roadrunners have organised a fun run in the morning.

"I like being able to get some fresh air and exercise. I like the feeling you get from achieving something at the end of it," Andrew said.

Andrew teaches Year 7, which at Toolooa is part of high school, and has been in Gladstone for about seven years.

"I'm still a bit biased, I grew up in Rocky," he said. "I love teaching.

"To see kids grow and develop and when that light bulb goes off."
