Rotary prize to make a merrier Christmas for lucky winner

THE Rotary Club of Gladstone is bringing the festive spirit to town with its annual Christmas trailer raffle.

Filled with gifts and valued at more than $2500, the trailer is being awarded to the lucky winner of their raffle draw Friday night at the annual Carols by Candlelight.

A whopping 5000 tickets have sold, according to the club's community director, Brad Smith.

"We started selling tickets in October," he said.

"We try to get it out there as much as we can."

The proceeds are being donated to the Gladstone Hospital Auxiliary Association, and another yet-to-be-chosen local charity.

"We couldn't have done it without the generous assistance of the hospital auxiliary who have been selling tickets for us."

Tickets are $2 each and six for $10, and will be sold until the draw at the Rotary Club of Gladstone stand at Carols by Candlelight.

The chance to win big is just one of the many attractions at the free community event at the Gladstone Marina. Families are also looking forward to an array of food, fireworks, and a visit from the man of the season to light the Christmas tree.
