Roosters crow about one-point win

CALLIOPE Roosters were crowing after winning the Under-16 Gladstone Junior Rugby League grand final Saturday.

In a classic game, the Roosters got up by a solitary point against Brothers, securing the club's first flag since 1993.

After the score was 7-6 at half-time in favour of the Roosters, Brothers fought back and led by 13 points with 15 minutes until the hooter.

The Roosters clawed their way back and with one minute to go they scored in the corner for a much-celebrated win.

Hayden Caughey was named player of the match.

Junior club president Dave Bowen thanked Brothers and the supporters who cheered at the final.
