Roof collapses as fire engulfs home in Esk

A FIERY blaze tore through a house in Esk, gutting much of the building and causing the roof to collapse.

The fire at the Ipswich St residence was reported about 4pm on Thursday.

At least six fire units were called to the scene but by the time they arrived, the house was already well alight.

As firefighters battled the blaze, part of the roof collapsed.

The fire was put out about 5.15pm.

All residents of the house are believed to have been accounted for.

Fire investigation crews are looking into the cause of the fire.
