THE rollerderby action this weekend is going to be epic.
Harbour City Hustlers has organised players from across the state to converge on Gladstone for five bouts across Saturday and Sunday at the PCYC.
Hustlers head coach Charlie Keenan said players were coming from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Mackay, Cairns and Rockhampton and would be split in to teams along with the Gladstone players.
"We'll mix up all the players and have a bit of fun and play a bit of roller derby," Keenan said.
Although he said it was not an official competition the Hustlers would be taking it very seriously ahead of a home bout against Toowoomba in March.
"I know my girls will take it seriously.
"They will get in the and they'll go hard."
As a coach Keenan said it was a valuable opportunity to see how the girls performed in competition mode.
There will be two co-ed bouts, a "fresh meat", or beginners, bout and two bouts for the more experienced girls.
After entering the competition scene for the first time last year, Keenan said this weekend was going to be an opportunity for roller derby teams from out of town to see what Gladstone was made of.
