Video: Police want to talk to man over alleged rape

A Rockhampton woman has allegedly been raped while walking home in a shocking attack in broad daylight on Saturday.

Around 3.20pm the 19-year-old was walking along Moores Creek behind Beaurepairs near Stocklands Shopping Centre after buying Easter eggs for her family.

She was approached by a man riding a bicycle who tried to have a conversation with her before he got off his bike and forced her to the ground.

The woman has told police the man sexually assaulted her before he fled on his bicycle.

The man is described as:

  • Aboriginal, with medium to dark complexion
  • In his late 20s to mid 30s
  • Medium build, around 170cm tall
  • Full beard and moustache
  • He has distinctive cuts to his lips, described as chunks of skin missing. Some are fresh, some appear older.

He was caught on CCTV footage riding past Jett's Gym at the shopping centre.
