Rocksalt aims for fifth best business award

ROCKSALT is proving to be the salt of the earth as far as Best in Business Award winners go.

The business is hoping to achieve its fifth consecutive win in the restaurant category this year.

Manager Mary Urquhart explained a good business comes down to good management, top food and staff.

"We are the only business who has won four years in a row and this year we're hoping to make it five," she said.

"We were really pleased (to win last year). New businesses had opened and you don't know how they compare to us."

The restaurant opened five and a half years ago.

Ms Urquhart said they would have been nominated for a range of things, including their food, coffee and customer service.

"Our coffee is made from fresh beans that haven't been stored in a warehouse for months," she said.

"There are no frozen products used. We make everything from scratch from the ice-creams to the bread rolls."
