Roar goes down again

AN ANDY Keogh hat-trick has condemned last season's champion Brisbane Roar to its second straight defeat to start the A-League campaign.

Brisbane twice led in Perth but the Glory fought back on both occasions for a thrilling 3-2 win at nib Stadium to move to top spot on the ladder with two wins from two games.

The visitors went in front through Mensur Kurtishi before Keogh scored from a penalty after being fouled by Jade North.

Henrqiue's spectacular strike put Brisbane in the lead again only for a Keogh shot to deflect in off James Donachie to draw Perth level before the former Irish international headed the winner with time running out.

Roar now sits second from bottom on goal difference ahead of Western Sydney Wanderers.

In yesterday's other game, Spanish superstar David Villa scored his second A-League goal in as many games to rescue a point for Melbourne City against Newcastle Jets.

Villa, who was in the starting XI yesterday at AAMI Park after coming on as a substitute last week, supplied another classy finish similar to his effort against Sydney FC, to earn his club a 1-1 draw.

Newcastle had taken the lead through its own foreign star, Ecuador international Edson Montano, with a near-post header in the 62nd minute.

Then just as it appeared as if the points would head north, up popped Villa with a low strike in the left corner to break Jets' fans hearts in the 86th minute.
