MOTOR SPORT: Curtis Coast Trail Riders Club is hosting the Lowmead Reloaded 2017 event today and tomorrow at Clarkey's Petrolhead Paradise property.
The annual, fun event usually attracts 200 riders, but CCTRC spokesperson Ian Treveton said this weekend's trail ride would attract well beyond that.
"We have 375 nominations now and it's the biggest trail ride for the year,” Treveton said.
The volunteer-driven event is not a race and is set on a 40km track which caters for all levels of riders, who will hit the track from 11am today and 8.30am tomorrow.
"There are separate tracks for the more experienced riders and a track for beginners and as well as a track for the little ones or the peewee riders,” Treveton said.
With rain over the past two days, Treveton said the track would be in perfect condition.
"There won't be any dust at all and the track has a lot of combinations, with muddy creek crossings, hilly spots and open, flat areas as well,” he said.
Spectators are welcome.
"We have a raffle to raise money for a specialised recovery vehicle and this event is also a local fundraiser for the Lowmead SES,” Treveton said.
"There will be a Barrel Challenge tonight as well as live music.”
Bundaberg Amateur Radio Club has supplied communication devices for the two-day event.
