Riders prepare for Turkey Beach endurance test

THE second round of the Curtis Coast Country Sprint series is all prepared and ready to go when June 23 rolls around.

The third year of the series, which includes riders from Townsville, Mackay, Brisbane, Rockhampton and of course locally, has three rounds, the last of which is October 13.

The Turkey Beach event is an endurance round, which runs for more than four hours.

The riders must complete laps of the 18km track, with the winner the junior who completes the most laps

The task for the riders is not that simple however, with the tracks including single trails, creeks, hills and gullies as well as some open fire trail.

Brock Harris, Jordan Andrews and Zac Perry currently lead their respective classes, with the overall series champion being decided on points from all three rounds.
