BMX riders leap into rehearsals as Boomtown debut nears

REHEARSALS for Boomtown have moved to the spectacular foreshore stage at Gladstone Marina - and not a moment too soon.

It's just two days until opening night of the spectacular musical.

On Monday afternoon, cheerleaders and BMX riders were among the diverse group of local performers to go through their paces.

And Gladstone Mayor Gail Sellers said it's not too late for more locals to join in the fun.

"This is the ultimate community event created for the Gladstone region and it will be a long time until we get the chance to see the likes of it again," Cr Sellers said.

Beginning on Thursday, Boomtown will have four evening performances from 6.30pm-8pm.
