Rev-heads just beat the rain

IT WAS pedal to the metal at the Gladstone Kart Club on Saturday.

Clouds were looming overhead and the go-karters had to beat the rain to get all the races in.

President Dave Bennett said the 30 racers even skipped lunch.

It started to sprinkle just as the last set of finals began.

"We just got all the racing in," Bennett said.

The president pinpointed Rae Fothergill's performance in the TAG 100 category as a standout.

Bennett said that it was a particularly good monthly meet and it's a precursor to the Christmas meet on December 1 which will comprise racing and an AGM.
