Residents asked to help shape economic strategy

GLADSTONE residents are being invited to help shape a new economic development strategy for the region.

The council is undertaking a review of its existing economic development strategy in light of the significant changes in the region.

The last strategy was formed in 2010, and the adjustments that will occur as a result of major construction projects winding down need to be considered.

A workshop to obtain public input into the development of a new strategy will be held in the McArthur Room at the Oaks hotel, Goondoon St, Gladstone on Monday from 6.30pm-9.30pm.

An initial framework will be presented and will be available for further development at the workshop.

Initial framework documents can be provided to interested residents by email, and will be available on council's website from Friday.

Light finger food will be provided from 6pm.

Residents are asked to confirm attendance before close of business on Thursday.

Phone Tatum Triffett on 4970 0700 or email tatumt@gladstonerc.qld.gov.au.
