Rescue chopper crew has busy start to the year

THE RACQ Capricorn Rescue helicopter was off to a busy start this year, responding to four rescues back to back to kick off 2014.

An 18-year-old man was transported from Blackwater to Rockhampton in a stable condition after he collided with a car on his quad bike on Wednesday.

Another quad-bike accident later in the day had the helicopter out to Baralaba.

Here a 61-year-old mustering cattle rolled his bike, forcing the handlebars into his chest. The man was flown to Rockhampton with multiple fractured ribs.

Two separate flights to Biloela were put on to help a 71-year-old wooman with a suspected obstructed bowel and a 66-year-old woman suffering from fluid build up in her lungs.
