REMOVE the clutter and clear the chaos this winter with simple storage solutions that can be applied in any home.

Implementing clever storage spaces can promote organisation, cleanliness and efficiency around the home which can help reduce stress and increase leisure time.

Bunnings national storage buyer Daniel Gibney provides his top tips on storage solutions for the laundry.

  • Use a hamper or laundry basket to keep clean and dirty clothes separate and off the floor. Go one step further and separate the lights, darks and delicates into two or three smaller baskets.
  • Take storage to the ceiling by mounting cabinets or shelves to the wall above the washer and dryer. Create a storage area underneath by simply sitting appliances on a shelving unit. Customise the shelving unit with drawers and baskets for added organisation.
  • Maximise shelf space by organising small items into labelled boxes and stacking them on top of one another. Use shelf dividers to create cubbies on existing shelves for separating towels and linens. Coloured boxes are great for categorising items.
  • Store away the mop, broom or small cleaning accessories like gloves, by mounting hooks and small storage organisers inside long cupboards.
