Reliability key factor for The Glen's cricket team

WITH most Gladstone Cricket Inc teams experiencing mixed results this season, president Russell Williams said consistent performances from The Glen had placed it on top of the ladder.

"They will be a hard team to beat," Williams said.

The Glen play Brothers at Sun Valley tomorrow, and Williams said The Glen would prove tough competition.

Yaralla plays BITS at Yaralla and Williams said it would be an even match between the two sides who had been level-pegging all season.

At the start of the season Williams said trial matches between Gladstone and Rockhampton were played so the A-grade teams could have more competition.

"I wouldn't be surprised next year if we amalgamate with Rockhampton," Williams said.

The positives would include the fact that those players who play for Central Queensland would play more cricket before going up against teams from across the state.

Williams said the association would be putting a lot of thought into the idea first.

"If we do do it, we have to get it right from the get go," he said.
