Performers wanted to celebrate communities in Afloat events

CREATIVE Regions wants expressions of interest from Gladstone performers for a community celebration.

The Afloat project includes Gladstone, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, North Burnett and Fraser Coast and celebrates the resilience of communities and their outstanding individuals.

Over the past 18 months this project has offered different arts projects to aid the social recovery of regions affected by floods and tornadoes, and will culminate in a series of four events.

Events will be on June 21 at Baffle Creek Sport and Recreation Grounds, Baffle Creek; June 14 at Kendalls Flats, Bundaberg; June 28 at Bicentennial Park, Mundubbera; and July 5 at Queens Park, Maryborough.

Organisers need voluntary performers to contribute to the Afloat events.

Stage manager Di Wills said the program would be a series of themed sections that included films, animations and performances.

"We are seeking individuals, organisations or groups," she said.
