What I'm reading: Allan reads up on life after Cold War

THIS week we talk about books and reading with Allan Mackay.

Name: Allan Mackay.

What are you reading?

It's the Red Square by Martin Cruz Smith. It's the third in the series about Russia after the Cold War, not long after the wall fell down. He is in Munich at the moment.

How often do you read?

I try to read every day or as often as I can.

Where do you get your books from?

All over the place. Library or books stores, anywhere. My son left this book at home when he left to go to university.

I picked it up and put it on my next to read list.

Why types of books do you like to read?

That's another wild question. There is no specific type of genre I like to read.

Some factual, some fiction. It's pretty hard to say which I prefer to read.

Who is your favourite author?

Oh I don't know if I have one. Catch-22 by Joseph Heller was a great book. I'm a fan of Tolkien with the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.

Have you read 50 Shades of Grey? No.

The Twilight Saga or Lord of the Rings? Obviously I would go for Lord of the Rings.
