Emergency services busy with recovery efforts across region

EMERGENCY services have been busy with recovery efforts across the Gladstone region.

State Emergency Service (SES) volunteers responded to approximately 139 requests for assistance from midnight to 12pm on Friday.

These jobs related mostly to flood assistance, leaking roofs, roof damage and fallen trees.

From Tuesday to Friday last week, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service crews completed more than 4456 Rapid Damage Assessments.

RDA operations were completed in Lowmead, Rosedale, Baffle Creek, Turkey Beach, Benaraby and Agnes Water but due to inaccessibility there was still work to be done in the Boyne Valley area.

QFRS had 134 personnel deployed intra-state on Friday to assist with flood operations and clean-up
