A RECORD crowd of 700 were at the Tannum Sands Millennium Esplanade this morning for the Mother's Day Classic fun run.

Participants took on a four or eight kilometre run.

Organiser Leesa Dwan said she hoped to raise $20,000, to bring their six year fundraising dollar value to $100,000.

"I love how this event brings the community together and we can all join together for a great cause," she said.

"This is my 6th year organising the event.  I have a team of wonderful friends that help me every year and our husbands run the BBQ breakfast too. The planning of this event started back in November last year."

The crowd was warmed up with a exercise routine by Powerhouse
