Reality TV show host sues police, government for $27m
THE State Government, Police Commissioner Ian Stewart and a bikie-busting cop have been hit with a $27 million lawsuit by a controversial Gold Coast reality TV show host and singer amid allegations of death threats, a kidnapping and murder plot and police misconduct.
The suit has been filed in the Supreme Court by Charles Dupois, who has a colourful past, including once being jailed for stalking an ex-girlfriend in a case in which he hired a witch to cast a spell over her.
In his claim Dupois, also known as Charles Gant and Charles Chakra, alleges another ex-partner conspired with her fashion blogger friend to have him kidnapped and murdered.
He alleges a police officer with the bikie-busting Taskforce Maxima formed "an improper personal relationship" with his ex "due to her being very attractive" and "colluded and conspired" with her and her family to have Dupois again charged with stalking.
