Ready for romance
Valentine's Day is less than four weeks away and while that's plenty of time to line up a date, in girl world, the clock is ticking to line up something to wear.
If you're looking for inspiration for an outfit for the most romantic day on the calendar, look no further. While you might not know what (or who, wink wink) you're doing yet, Boohoo manager Madeline White's advice will have you reassured you'll be doing it in style.
If you're heading into the great outdoors for a date, aka turning off Netflix and walking through the front door, you'll need something that's as practical as it is stylish. Madeline says a simple slip-on dress paired with comfortable boots will give off an appearance of effortless elegance with a touch of grunge.
"For a daytime date, keep it relaxed with an easy-to-wear, and always stylish, satin dress,” Madeline says. "Mixing feminine pieces with edgier accessories, such as a pair of chunky biker boots, is currently on-trend and a great way to ensure you are never over, or under, dressed, no matter where your date takes you.”
It doesn't get much more dreamy than watching the sunset with a picnic or atop a rooftop bar. And if you dress it up with a sparkly garment, your date won't know whether to look at the dipping sun or your glittering clothing. "For a sunset or evening date, keep things fun with sequins and bright colours,” Madeline says. "A blazer dress is always a classy option. Pair this with brightly coloured boots to pump up the attitude.”
If there's ever a time to dress to impress, it's out to a swish dinner on Valentine's Day. Madeline recommends going all out and opting for a silk or satin dress in pale pink, silver or nude, matched with polished jewellery. "For something a little more sophisticated, a slinky dress is romantic and date-night appropriate,” she says. "Elevate the look by complementing with statement accessories, such as white, strappy heels, statement gold earrings and a diamante bag to match.”
